Every summer in July, art + design students come from all over the world to live on our campus and work in our studios. Students choose from over 60 courses in the visual arts and design and enjoy an intensive program of doing what they love to do in a college environment. It’s a great opportunity to explore the many career pathways of professional artists and designers. Our students build their own schedules, earn college credit, live near Harvard Square, and get to know the world class city of Boston. The four-week program culminates with an exhibition and a celebration of our young artists’ hard work.

A current ceramic’s project about protecting memories.
-The earthenware shapes act like small grottos/caves/walls to protect the ornaments.
-Relates to all my projects with this idea of collections and holding on to bits and bobs and not being able to let go. What will happen to these ornaments when were gone?
-I’m trying to find ways to make them seem harmless and come to life at the moment, like they need protection.
-When your mum or dad give you something and tell you to take good care of it!

Prints of my granddad diary
These works were generated from a diary of my granddads from when he was a parachuter in Arnhem durring the second world war. The prints are currently printed onto post cards relating to the ways my nan was contacted from different people to let her know he was a prisoner of war.
The writings and images are backwards, not only due to the process of printing but also because the letters and diary are personal to me.

Dry-point Prints generated from found South African stamps from the period of the union of South Africa. I usually use printing as a starting point to generate ideas for further work.
